Premium all-round tennis racket from Tennis-Point

All-round tennis rackets are the most played worldwide and are constructed with the greatest care by the manufacturing companies. They must have an excellent mix of sporting properties and comfort features, as hobby players expect exactly these properties from their tennis racquet. For most brands in the tennis business, the all-round rackets are slightly modified versions of tournament rackets. First and foremost, they are characterized by less weight, a larger striking surface and a material composition that absorbs vibrations and shocks as effectively as possible. This results from the fact that many club players are not on the court more than once or twice a week and therefore do not have as powerful tennis muscles as team and tournament players.

The properties of an all-round racket at a glance

The colors and shape of the all-round rackets are often close to the tournament versions of the manufacturer brands. But there are technical features that clearly identify the all-round racket and therefore make the selection easier. In our shop, the all-round rackets form a separate category. If you are in this category, you have the opportunity to search specifically for your favorite brand in order to reach your goal faster. Here are the most important distinguishing criteria at a glance.

All-round racket length

As with all other racket categories, the all-round racket is also available in a “standard length” between 680 and 690 millimeters. Longer rackets are occasionally available, but they are hardly recommended for recreational players as they offer more range and power but are more difficult to control.

All-round racket weight

In order not to put excessive strain on the swing arm, all-round rackets are really lightweight compared to professional frames. In any case, they weigh a maximum of 300 grams (unstrung), but they are also no lighter than 260 grams. Their low weight makes swinging easier, which is particularly beneficial for average players who usually practice shorter hitting movements.

All-round racket face

If you place your all-round racket on a tournament frame for comparison, you will immediately notice that the hitting surface is slightly larger. This leads to a larger “sweet spot”, i.e. the area of the covering that is best suited for the meeting point. The extra size ensures that even balls that were not hit quite optimally are accelerated out. All-round rackets range in size from 95 to 105 inches, which corresponds to 613 to around 677 square centimeters.

All-round racket balance

The balance of the racket indicates whether the weight is oriented towards the handle or towards the racket head. Most all-round rackets are “balanced,” meaning they don’t lean toward the handle or head in terms of weight. This enables a controlled game that suits the technique of the all-round tennis player. It neither swings too quickly nor does it require the feeling that would be necessary for a sustained volley game.

All-round racket frame profile

The frame profile describes the “thickness” of the frame. The thicker, i.e. wider, the frame, the more comfortable the racket is. But particularly wide frames lead to poorer control, but offer more acceleration. All-round rackets in this category are also oriented towards mediocrity and usually have a frame profile of 23 to 27 millimeters.
