These balls are extremely durable and play much much better than the Gamma pressureless balls. I haven't used Penn. However, they are much harder than normal balls so don't think you can use them for matches. Stick with them for ball machines. I haven't tried every ball out there but the softest balls I've tried are regular duty (red ink) Penn Championship and regular duty Penn ATP. Those balls do not last long, though. Those are what I would use for matches, even on hard courts. I don't like the heaviness of extra duty balls, especially Wilson's. Regular duty US Open balls are okay as well. I plan to compare these Tretorn balls with the new Wilson Triniti ball.

I was apprehensive about buying these due to the price, but after reading the reviews on this site, I went for it. I just purchased a ball machine and these balls are for the machine. They really do have a true feel and bounce of a pressurized ball. They do, however leave a lot of fuzz on the inside of the machine and the wheels, nothing a quick vacuum and wipe down cant fix. I will follow up in six months ( June 2020) to see how they are holding up.

Twice the cost of other practice balls, but 3x as good

There's no doubt these balls cost more than other practice balls. But for use with a ball machine or for serve practice none are better. I've worn through several sets of these, and a few other brands. These are much closer to regular balls, and easier on the arm compared to other brands. They also last longer and are a better match for the shape and size of the throwing wheels in my ball machine. Every time I've been tempted to go with cheaper brands I've always regretted it. Just pay the extra money for the Micro X.

These balls work flawlessly in the tennis tutor player plus machine. These have constant bounce and they feel very close to a regular tennis ball upon impact. Will definitely get more of these when the time comes.

Excellent balls

I purchased Tretorn Micro X tennis balls for a ball machine I recently acquired. Because I teach tennis and coach a high school team I needed balls that would last a long time and provide a consistent bounce. Many ball machines will project balls at changing depths unless the balls have the same pressure. Unlike regular balls, which may have been opened at different times, pressureless balls result in consistent depth, which aids students in learning and grooving their strokes. Highly recommended.

I have used them for as long as I can remember. They last until they are bald. I have some I use for a rental machine and they have lasted 4 years. The review that said they only lasted 3 months is taking some serious meds.

Works as advertised

I've used Penn (too soft) and Gamma (irregular bounces after a while) pressureless balls before. Then I bought a ball machine and decided to shop around. These balls work fine for regular hitting and in the ball machine. I have used them almost daily for about 8 months. They lose a lot of fuzz after a long time, but keep their bounce forever. Only downside is that they are expensive -- still a better deal than any other pressureless ball I know.

Now I can work on my serve!

I've used Tretorns for years and am so glad to get a new batch. I had the last set over ten years. Ordered them, they arrived in a timely manner, and I've been enjoying them ever since. :-)

TO ALL BALL MACHINE USERS EVERY TENNIS BALL IS MOLDED AND MOLD RELEASE SILICONE IS USED TO KEEP THE MATERIAL FROM STICKING TO THE MOLD. THIS PRODUCT IS GREASEY LIKE AND WILL GET ONTO THE FRICTION WHEELS OF THE MACHINE. CLEAN FICTION WHEELS WITH RUBBING ALCOHOL AFTER A COUPLE OF USES. THEN THE PROBLEM WITH UNEVEN TOSSING WILL BE GONE. ALL NEW BALLS HAVE THIS RELEASE SILICONE ON THEM AS PART OF THE MOLDING PROCESS. EVEN YOUR RACHET STRINGS WILL COLLECT THIS AND YOUR PROBLEY HIT BAD FOR A SHORT WHILE. CLEAN YOUR STRINGS WITH SOAPY RAG AND WIPE DRY WILL GET RID OF THE CEMICAL.

These pressureless balls are excellent, mimic pressurized balls as closely as can be. Very satisfied with their performance.

I've used these for years to coach a high school team in the off season. They retain bounce for a solid 2 to 3 years. Unlike other pressureless balls we've used over the years, they aren't hard on your arm.

My club uses these with the ball machine and they will maintain their bounce...even when the felt has worn off: rather amazing! The only downside is that there is a lot of ink on the balls and that ink ends up on the throwing wheels of the ball machine which then need to be cleaned off using a rag.

very disappointed

I've used Gama Pressureless, Penn Pressureless in practice. They either lose fuzz or bounce fairly rapidly. The Tretorns last for months and months, keep their fuzz and bounce. The big X makes them easy to identify on the courts. Best value for practice tennis balls around.

I bought a ton of these over ten years ago for my ball machine and practice. Then I fell out of tennis. Now I'm back and these balls are still the same! Great bounce. These balls are magic. If you need to save money, a can of these will last you until you beat the covers off. I cut one open and they have some sort of crystal like foam inside. Might want to keep away from dogs.
