Who we are

The year 1998

Christian Miele and Thomas Welle founded the "Welle & Mielde GbR" (GbR=company constituted under civil law). A little tennis shop (50m²) was established in the "Steinfurter Straße" in Münster (Germany).


The year 2003

The Welle & Miele GbR acquired the "Sportbotique Weikert", a big sport shop (200m²) in the "Hörster Straße" specialised in tennis and golf.


The year 2006

The Welle & Miele GbR moved to the street "Alter Fischmarkt". The new sport shop was now near to the Lambertikirche (Lamberti church) in the city centre of Münster.
Football, running and fitness were integrated in the product range.


The year 2007

The Tennis-Point GmbH & Co. KG was founded. Maik Langenberg and Philipp Tippkemper also became CEOS of the company.
From then on, the company has specialised in tennis and concentrated on the establishment of a professional online shops.


The year 2008

The first time, Tennis-Point had a sales stall during the Gerry Weber Open in Halle (Westfalen), a big tennis tournament. The first Tennis-Point catalogue attracted attention while the first tv spots could be seen on Eurosport during Grand Slam tournaments.


The year 2009

Further tournament presences followed with the ARAG World Team Cup in Düsseldorf, the Weißenhof in Stuttgart and the German Open in Hamburg.
Tennis-Point became partner of the DTB (Deutscher Tennisbund, German tennis association), of the WTV (westfälischer Tennisverband, Westphalian tennis association) and of the Hamburger Tennisverband (tennis association in Hamburg).
The first Tennis-Point shop opened in Münster in the "Friedrich-Ebert-Straße". With 330m² the shop is the largest sport shop in Germany which only concentrates on tennis.


The year 2010

Tennis-Point expand its shipment logistics by extending its storage area.
To make shopping easier, faster and more uncomplicated, the webshop has been relaunched.
Moreover you now have the chance to visit us on Youtube, Facebook, Twitter or in our blog and talk with other tennis and sport freaks, inform yourself of actions or news.


The year 2011

While new TV-Spots attracted attention on Eurosport during Grand Slam tournaments, The second Tennis-Point shop opened in Berlin in the "Franklinstraße". In cooperation with “Hohmann Golf” the biggest store in Germany, which only concentrates on tennis, offers a wide range of products. At the end of September Tennis-Point also moved to Hamburg with a third store. In the “Niederstraße 10” a new meeting point for tennis fans has been created.

Tennis-Point has been awarded with the Shop Usability Award in the category sport. Moreover readers of the German Tennis-Magazin choose Tennis-Point to be the best Tennis-Online-Shop 2011. In addition Tennis-Point has been elected as the Onlineshop of the year by a German jury.
